Sound like an overstatement? It isn’t. Here’s why.
Why You Can’t Ignore Pinterest If You’re a Blogger, Writer, or Entrepreneur
#1 Unlike other social media sites, Pinterest is all about content. Facebook is about vacation brags and pics of the kids. Twitter drives news. You’re lucky to get traction (without paying big bucks on advertising) with either of these sites when it comes to sharing your content. But Pinterest? Pinterest is all about the content. Users there want blog posts. They want product offers. And they gobble it up and ask for more. If you have something to sell or something to share, Pinterest is where it’s at. Period.
#2 Pinterest Users Have More Spendable Income + More Time to Spend than the average user on other social media sites (Pinterest statistics, if you’re interested). And that means more time and money to spend on what you offer. It makes sense to pitch yourself to the people who love what you do and can afford you. Otherwise, you’re spinning your wheels.
#3 It’s Easy to Go Viral on Pinterest. A lot of my blog’s initial success was thanks to two posts that went viral on Pinterest. This one on character design got over 50k repins. And this one on cheap travel for college students did almost as well at over 44k repins. (You can see those articles here and here.) It’s normal for even average posts to rack up repins in the thousands.
That was a lot of people reading my fledgling blog, and it blew me away at the time. But it turns out that—if you know exactly how to work it—Pinterest can make it easy for you to find readers who are already into what you write about. And Pinterest makes it easy for them to discover and rediscover your work long past its publication date.
Have blog posts to share? A book to sell? E-course spots to fill? Pinterest users want to know about it. I can help you find them and get them to your site.
It’s easy to book a session. Just reach out here. Coaching calls are $129/hour, and most people get what they need in just one session.
